Honouring Scientific Pioneers

CERN has introduced new street names across its Meyrin site to better reflect the diverse individuals whose contributions have advanced modern physics.

Alongside honouring pioneering scientists such as Lise Meitner and Marietta Blau, the former Route Marie Curie has been renamed Route Marie Skłodowska Curie, recognising the scientist’s full name and Polish heritage.

Additional streets on the Prévessin site will also be named after distinguished women scientists in the coming months.
