SNAC (Supporting Neurodiversity at CERN)
The idea to create a network that would bring together colleagues around the subject of neurodiversity was inspired by feedback from a former CERN Fellow. She greatly missed having a support network at CERN for persons like herself with neurodivergent cognitive thinking.
Result? "SNAC" (Supporting Neurodiversity at CERN): an informal network of colleagues from across the Organization.
SNAC's main objectives are to:
- Advise the D&I Programme and each other about individual experiences with a view to workplace improvements at CERN
- Create actions to increase awareness among the personnel population
- Provide an understanding and empathetic space for SNAC members to support each other
- Potentially serve as a peer-to-peer “buddy” system for newcomers who may face neurodiversity-related challenges at work
If you would like to join the SNAC network and to be added to the network mailing list, please send an email to the e-group administrator at Neurodiversity.contact@cern.ch. Self-subscription also possible: click "Website link" below. Confidentiality is assured.
Let us help make CERN known as a workplace that is adapted for neuro-nontypical colleagues, and not that these colleagues must adapt to CERN.
